About
Durham University’s Global Week takes place from March 1 offering a packed programme of events, exhibitions, talks and performances.
The theme for Global Week is ‘Culture – Community – Connect’ and the University warmly invites everyone to join in the celebrations. The programme includes over 80 events taking place in Durham and across the world at Durham Days alumni celebrations.
This week-long celebration recognises the University's diverse international student and staff communities, and the positive global impact of Durham’s research and partnerships.
It showcases Durham University's diversity and global connections through a series of events focused on research, languages, culture and global citizenship.
Activities taking place throughout the week include in-person and on-line lectures open to everyone, as well as panel discussions, film screenings, concerts and family friendly events.
On Sunday 2 March, Durham Students’ Union hosts WorldFest, a celebration of the diverse range of cultures represented within Durham’s student community and organised by Durham International Students Association.
Members of the local community are invited along to this festival style event, where over 25 different international student societies will share their culture and traditions through food stalls, music, dance performances and cultural exhibits.
Global Week runs from March 1 to March 9 and the full schedule of events is available on the University’s website
