The Space
This newly refurbished two storey house is a gorgeous little getaway by the sea.
On entering the property you are presented with a bright and spacious living area. This space features two comfy sofas that can accommodate all guests, homely furnishings and hardwood flooring. Enjoy an evening in front of the TV or make plans for your day ahead in these gorgeous, cosy surroundings.
Also on the ground floor is the beautiful and bright kitchen and dining area. The modern style, grey cupboards and wooden worktops bring a real sense of home to the room. Fully equipped with everything you should need for a short break you can cook up a feast here. The rectangular wooden dining table seats four people comfortably with matching chairs.
To the rear of the property you will find the bathroom. This is a modern style room fitted with a bathtub, overhead shower, WC and basin. Grey tiles cover the walls and the floor is decorated with patterned tiles. The room is finished off with a light-up mirror cabinet and storage space for toiletries.
Take the stairs to the first floor where you have the two bedrooms. The first room features a red feature wall and modern furnishings to create a relaxing feel. The king size bed features a padded, light brown headboard and is dressed with crisp white linen, red cushions and light grey throw. The bed can also be split into two singles upon request if this is more suitable for your stay.
The second bedroom features a double bed and has a cosy vibe about it. The bed is dressed with a bold purple throw and matching cushions. This cosy and tranquil space is the perfect retreat after a busy day by the coast.
Outside at the rear of the property, you’ll find a private, enclosed sunny yard with a seating area and plants.
Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Neighborhood
Seaham is a lively harbour town located on Durham’s Heritage Coast. You’ll be spoiled by brilliant views in the town, whether it be looking out to sea or admiring one of England’s oldest churches, St Mary’s.
The sea front is home to ‘Tommy’ the World War I statue, as well as the heritage and lifeboat centre where George Elmy is on display all year round. Continue wandering along the sea front and you’ll find a whole host of bars, cafes and restaurants.
The sandy North Beach is great for families as it has rock pools and an all-round inviting feel. With ice cream and souvenir stalls, fun is guaranteed in Seaham.
The famous Seaham glass beach, home to an abundance of glass pebbles, is popular with people from all over the UK and is well worth visiting during your stay.
If walking is your thing, begin by enjoying the views of Seaham Harbour before embarking on a hike along the coastal footpath where the views are to die for.
For those into shopping, you can enjoy a day at The Metro Centre, Europe's largest indoor mall-style shopping centre, conveniently situated beside the A1 in Gateshead.
Getting Around
Leaf Cottage is located close to everything Seaham has to offer. The beach is just a 20-minute walk away from the property and it takes no time at all by car.
Seaham train station is also a 20-minute walk away. With stops in Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Newcastle, and connecting routes to York and locations further afield, you’ll be ideally placed to explore the North East and North Yorkshire.
The property also has easy access to the nearby A19.
