When booking this holiday home, you’ll have full access to the property which includes an open plan living, kitchen and dining area, two bedrooms, a family bathroom, a balcony and a private garden with outdoor furniture.
The kitchen perfectly combines modern and traditional with white wooden cabinets and a minimalist design. You’ll have everything you could need to prepare meals easily during your stay as the kitchen is fully equipped with appliances and cookware.
Sharing this space is the dining area which features a large wooden table and matching wooden chairs.
The property also has a cosy living area with comfortable sofas and a flat screen TV making it perfect for relaxing. Exposed beams add plenty of character to the open plan space at River View Cottage.
Take the stairs down to the lower floor and you’ll find two bedrooms and the family bathroom.
The master bedroom boasts a king size bed with an ensuite shower room and the second bedroom is a double. Both bedrooms have premium bed linens and ample storage space.
From each of these rooms you have access to ideally placed balcony. Featuring two lounging chairs and a side table. This is the perfect sopt for enjoying a morning cuppa as you listen to the natural sounds of birdsong and the running river.
The family bathroom has a bathtub with overhead shower, WC and vanity unit.
Outside you’ll find a private enclosed garden, featuring outdoor furniture and a BBQ. Perfect for al fresco dining and unwinding in the sunshine, this outside spaces is a real bonus to this property!

Neighborhood
River View Cottage is located in the historic market town of Barnard Castle, just two minutes from the town centre. Featured within the Guardian’s ‘10 of the UK’s best small towns’, there is something for everyone here. If you love to shop, the town has many antique shops so treasure seekers will be in their element. There are also lots of independent stores which you wouldn’t see on the average high street. Take your pick of restaurants, cafes and pubs which serve lovely home-made food.
Barnard Castle is also known for its 12th century castle. The English Heritage property has great views over the Tees Gorge. You can try to spot Richard III’s boar emblem carved above the window in the inner ward or explore the sensory garden.
Getting Around
The closest train station to Barnard Castle is Bishop Auckland which is served by trains to and from Darlington and Middlesbrough. A number of connecting routes can also be found from these stations so getting to other locations around the UK could not be easier.
There are a number of bus routes throughout Barnard Castle. Hop on the Arriva X76 or X75 which travels to Darlington.
