The Space
Waterside is a perfect combination of wood and white interiors. The apartment is perfectly complemented by wooden floors, cupboards, furniture, and a brown leather sofa and chairs. Boasting an open-plan living space, featuring a lounge area complete with a Smart TV for entertainment and a dining table for shared meals. The fully equipped kitchen adds to the convenience and comfort of your stay.
From the living room, step out onto the balcony and enjoy the fresh air while taking in amazing views of the river! Facing west, this spacious private balcony becomes a sun-drenched sanctuary during the summer months. Furnished with rattan seating for four and a table, it's the perfect spot to unwind with drinks and take pleasure in the stunning surroundings.
Waterside features two double bedrooms where you can retreat to after a busy day exploring Durham. Both bedrooms have windows that provide picturesque views of the River Wear. One room has an ensuite fitted with a WC, a shower and a washbasin.
The family bathroom is the first room greeting you on your entry. Modern and clean in style, the space is completed with a bath with an overhead shower, a WC and a basin.
Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during guest bookings. For this reason, we require all our guests to transfer a Damage Deposit (refundable, subject to an administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Neighborhood
Waterside is perfectly located in the centre of Durham with many attractions just a stone's throw away. Named ‘One of the Best Cities in the World to Visit in 2020’ by The Independent and voted ‘The Best City in the UK’ by Condé Nast’s Traveller magazine readers, the beautiful city is packed with history and charm.
It has the perfect blend of medieval heritage and a modern, vibrant feel. The cobbled streets are peppered with restaurants, bars, pubs and shops. Take a leisurely stroll near the River Wear which continues past Durham Cathedral and the 900-year-old Durham Castle.
Enjoy lovely views of River Wear and Framwellgate Bridge just from the comfort of our huge balcony that runs the width of the apartment.
Waterside is only a 9-minute walk from Durham Cathedral, one of the most spectacular historic sites in the area. Constructed between 1103 and 1133, this towering building is a shining example of Norman architecture. The cathedral is now the oldest surviving building with a stone vaulted ceiling of such a large scale.
Getting Around
Waterside is located in the centre of Durham, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance.
Durham train station is 11-minutes away on foot so nearby towns and cities can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Durham. Hop on the Arriva 6 route to visit Barnard Castle or the number 22 which travels through Seaham and Sunderland.
