Getting Around Durham City
Cathedral Bus
The Cathedral Bus is a dedicated service linking the rail station, principal city centre bus stops, coach drop off point and the market place with the World Heritage Site of Durham Cathedral and Castle.
Tickets to travel on the Cathedral Bus cost £1.00 (50p for children 13 years and under) and are valid all day with the exception of journeys to or from the university where a single journey fare of £1 (£1.50 return) applies.
Concessionary passes are valid and holders of valid Durham City Park and Ride tickets or Explorer North East tickets can also travel for free.
The Cathedral Bus operates Monday to Saturday. It does not run on Sundays, public holidays or on the Saturday of the Durham Miners' Gala in July.
The Cathedral bus is available from the following pickup points:
Durham train station to Cathedral (40) - Monday to Saturday
Calling at Durham Cathedral, Durham Market Place, Sutton Street and Durham Railway Station.
Radisson Hotel, Waterside to Cathedral (40A) - Monday to SaturdayCalling at Durham Cathedral, Leazes Road (Underpass Stand A), Durham Market Place and Radisson Blu Hotel Durham Waterside.
