The tranquil beauty of the sandy North Beach, with its inviting rock pools, is sheltered by a long sea wall which also protects the cliffs from the power of the North Sea. Grab an ice cream or simply enjoy the stunning view from Seaham Harbour Marina or set off on a walk along the coastal footpath (part of the King Charles III England Coast Path) to reveal breathtaking views. Don't miss the perfect photo opportunity with "Tommy" the WWI statue, and visit the heritage and lifeboat centre where the George Elmy is on permanent display. and you'll be spoilt for choice when its time to refuel with a wide selection of bars, cafés and restaurants along a busy sea front. 

A sense of history is never far away, one of the most outstanding features in Seaham is St. Mary the Virgin Church, recognised as one of the 20 oldest surviving churches in the whole country. Located to the north of the town this old Anglo Saxon church has roots thought to date back to the 7th Century.
