High Force suddenly and spectacularly drops 70 feet into a plunge pool below, making it England's highest uninterrupted drop of water. It is unreachable on public transport except on a Wednesday when Hodgson Coaches' No. 73 runs between Barnard Castle, Middleton-in-Teesdale and High Force itself.
For information about services connecting at Barnard Castle and Middleton-in-Teesdale visit Traveline North East or contact Traveline on 0871 200 22 33.
