We’re open from 10.00 to 16.00 every day through the school holidays, except on 24, 25 and 26 December, when we’re closed.

21 – 31 December: Make a paper pecking robin.
1 – 5 January: Make a lolly stick kazoo.
Flying Scotsman is now on display in Main Hall for the Christmas holiday period.

Workshops with Same Difference Arts—Free, available while stocks last, check timings at the Welcome Desk on arrival.
27 – 30 December: Make a festive thaumatrope—A thaumatrope creates an illusion based on how your brain processes information from your eyes, using the principle of persistence of vision. Make your own, using a pre-made template or creating your own design and learn about optical illusions and persistence of vision.
2 – 3 January: Make a paper cup telephone—Decorate paper cups based on the person or place you would most like to hear from and then put the science of sound into action and learn how sound waves travel.
