About
A Relaxing and Healing Hour for You
Take time out to unwind and spend time within yourself, to luxuriate in the complex soundscape that surrounds and caresses you.
A Sound Bath is exactly what the name suggests, a chance to bathe your whole body and mind in all encompassing, soothing and re-invigorating sounds, uniquely crafted for you by the session host.
This event will usually be indoors, but during summer months might be held outdoors if the weather is right.
You will need to bring with you a yoga mat or similar to lie on, a shawl of blanket to cover you, and a cushion or pillow for your head if you wish.
Please wear loose comfortable clothing.
You wil be invited first to participate in some breathing axercises, after which you will be asked to sit or lie on your mat, adopting the most comfortable position for you.
If you are unable to sit or lie on the ground you can instead be seated on a chair or bench.
You will be invited to close your eyes as this provides for you the best opportunity to disconnect from the world around you to gain the most benefit from the sound bath.
Your host will then begin the sound bath, creating and mixing sounds with different frequencies and tones, using a range of singing bowls, bells, gongs and hand percussion instruments, to encourage your mind and body to relax and explore deep within.
The sound bath session will last for 1 hour.
At the conclusion of the sound bath you will be asked to remain lying down or sitting as you are for a few minutes, bringing your consciousness gradually back to your surroundings and the present moment, you will then be able to gradually move out of your position and back into the world.
After a sound bath it is recommended to remain calm and relaxed for several hours and to drink plenty of water.
To participate in the sound bath it is important that you are able to remain still (more or less) for the whole session. This is not suitable therefore for children. (children's sound baths can be scheduled by arrangement). Please remember to empty your bladder before the start.
