Explore Open Treasure
Spend an hour or two in Open Treasure, the Cathedral’s award-winning museum, with permanent displays and a rolling exhibition programme. Mapping the World opens on Monday 7 October with some extraordinary examples of historic drawings and maps, including a medieval reproduction of a 150AD roman map, a first edition of Ortelius’ Theatre of the World - known as the world’s first modern atlas, and of course, historic maps of Durham City and the county.
