About
We are partnering with 1860 bar and kitchen at Durham Amateur Rowing Club to bring you our new Durham City Paddle and Brunch sessions.
This activity involves a Stand Up Paddle boarding trip through Durham City lasting 1.5 hours followed by brunch and hot drink to get warmed up.
To make sure that your brunch and drink is ready for you after the activity we ask you select what you would like to eat and drink at the time of booking.
Please meet us at Durham Amateur Rowing Club. Drive down the lane and just prior to the rowing club is the entrance to a gravel car park on your right. You can park here then meet us outside the Rowing Club. Please be aware that this is a pay by phone car park and you will need to arrange payment for your own vehicle. Currently charges for this car park are; £0.80 for up to 1 hour, £1.20 for up to to hours £2.30 for up to 4 hours, £3 for up to 6 hours & £5 for up to 24 hours
We will provide all of the specialist equipment and safety equipment & we will provide you with a long john wet suit and a waterproof top to go over the top of this.
A long john wet suit is one with no arms so we suggest you wear a non-cotton sports top or fleece underneath. We use this style of wetsuit for our paddling trips in Durham as we find them more comfortable for longer trips and less restrictive on our arms and shoulders.
You will also need your swimwear (for under the wetsuit), some shoes that you can wear on the water and get wet as well as your towel and some warm clothes for after the activity.
We also suggest bringing a drink and a snack to take on the water with you. Your instructor will help to make sure we can carry these with us whilst we paddle.
